cooling problem

Post by zacs2k »

Recently i have had some cooling issues with my car. Its over cooling. When i warm it up in the morning the temp gauge reads normal (about a 1/4 past the C) then when i get in it and start driving it immedietly drops below the C mark.

It also seems like it takes forever till my heat strats warming up, and it doesn't get too warm once it does. But anyway the longer i drive the colder it gets and when i park it and let it idle for a while the temp starts going back up. Any ideas?

You either have an air pocket or a thermostat thats stuck open. Bleed the cooling system first to rid it of any air pockets. Then go from there

Usually air pockets creates a hot spot, so the temp would be reading hotter with air.

1)My car takes a long time to warm up, and my temp guage does not move far from C on the guage. If I idle it will move up but when I drive it goes back to C

The problem is you will need to replace your thermostat. It has failed in the open position as it is designed to. If it were to fail in the closed position the car would overheat as no coolant is allowed to flow to the engine.
