Just bought a header

Post by Fenian »

I just bought some Weapon R street headers for my Fit. My question is, with 12,500 miles on my car do I need to go out and buy new gaskets, or is it possible that with that many miles they are reusable?

I don't want to take the stock headers off and find out that I need gaskets when my car is in pieces. Thanks in advance for any advice.

BTW, here is a dyno for the headers.

I bought them because of the noticeable gains in low-end torque. Torque is a foreign concept to the L15a.

Do you think that it will still be ok after 12,000 miles? I am just worried bout it being stuck to either the block or the header.

Anyways, with the header (singular) debate being solved, does anyone think that I need to go drop 40 bucks on the gaskets, or will they still be new enough that they can be reused?

youll be fine. you can always use some copper sealant on both sides of it.

but usually a new header comes with a new gasket....a cheap gasket but it works.
