calling all b-swap gurus

Post by jadedeg »

Thursday morning my d-series took a dive on me and I am looking for anyone, who has done a b-series swap. i am getting parts together today and tomorrow and I am planning on doing the work on Sunday; if anyone wants to come over and help out. I have never done a swap before and probably need some guidance. This is my dd.

some info

Engine

Tranny

Clutch slave cylinder and line

Hybrid Engine mounts and t braket

Shift linkage

P75 Ecu and for it to be chipped

Axles

Coolant hoses

Clutch

Flywheel

Throw out bearing

Pilot bearing

O2 sensor

And other seals and gaskets

You will also find that when you go to start it up there will be cel on and then you are going to have to replace sensors that are going bad on a used motor

this is not something you just do in a weekend. it takes time to track down parts

If this is a 92-95 car, there is only one way I'd do it.

Buy complete LS swap from a 94-95 Integra (there was one for sale on KCSR for $900)

Use mounts that came with Integra
Use harness that came with Integra
Use ECU that came from Integra
Use axles that came from Integra
DO NOT open the hydraulic system for the clutch. Just unbolt the slave from the trans and bracket and lay off to the side, holding it with zip ties. Once you get the B swap in, just bolt it back on.

Do swap through the bottom using 2 floor jacks. Everything will plug in directly and the mounts will also bolt right in. If you want to keep AC, you need to get a CRV P7J bracket. To keep PS, use the LS PS pump and brackets and simply put your lines right back on.

EDIT: If you do the swap through the bottom, the T bracket needs to be in the car when going in and coming out. Once the engine is in, start the top bolt first (through bolt) then you can just grab the engine and rock it to get the other 2 started. You need to attach the driver and passenger mounts to the car after you start the top T bracket bolt but BEFORE you do the lower 2 T bracket bolts; just a little easier this way.

I've done a few and some go easy and some just become nightmares. Give more info on what your planning besides just saying hey I'm throwing a B-series in my DD.
