Supras are a hard find and a very expensive one in comparison to a honda. Your not going to be "saving that money".

Comparing a 30-50k dollar car (vette) to a honda is rediculous. Most 95% are not making 500whp with "bolt ons" either unless your talking about c6 z06. You find maybe a rare case where a head cam car is but bolt ons implys lid exhaust headers tune etc basics. No not so easy here in reality to put those basics on a c5 and belt out 500 to the tire like its nothin.

As for the link to the vette, I can show you bone stock srt8 300c running in the high 12's with only drag radials on there... try to find one who has done it anywhere you know of though. Yet everyone suddenly claims it like its everyday stuff.

Another funny thing is, my HONDA has plenty of torque (albiet not the norm) and I have taken a few guys for a ride who own some pretty nice v8 cars (chevelle built sb f1 procharger 22 psi almost an 800whp car, his cousins camaro d1sc built sb 20psi 680whp, built fox stang on a heavy shot stroker motor, etc)... they were shocked at how quick a honda with a turbo kit is. They thought is was cool as hell and dont look down at me for it. This is not to mention some encounters on the street with some of your precious bolt on v8 cars, they all were very suprised and respected something different just as I respect them.

Another part of it for me at least is being different... not just buying a v8 and going the same route as every other person with the same car. I can stand out in a crowd of people and know I have done something fun, different, less common, etc. Although in the end, you know who this is all about... ME, I do what I want... for me.

This is getting under my skin. Bottom line if someone chooses to build a 500whp honda who is anyone to honestly tell him what he should do, go build a 500whp v8 car and dont worry about him. Its one thing to suggest it but lets not get carried away now telling people how futile or a waste is their modding of hondas, on a honda site no less.

BTW some 500whp+ vettes locally since that seems to be the easy pick for this discussion cause it starts ahead of most cars factory. c5 ran a 10.7@127, blown vortech lots of boost full bolt ons cam meth injection fuel setup tune big skinnied. 50k dollar c6 with a 400+ inch built motor blown procharger good bit of boost headers exhaust cam heads victor style intake elbow fuel system blah blah blah, 10.9@ 131. not exactly just bolt ons here guys, and not to mention an investment of some serious jack that makes the comparison apples and oranges.

Oddly enough I actually like v8 cars too, but I like 4, 6, 10, 12, 16 cyl cars as well. I am an enthusiest... I just am one currently with a honda and happy doing it.

This is an old beat up arguement and no side will ever completely agree.

true... i was just responding to the post saying a 500whp muscle car isnt going to be that fast...

and a c6 with spray will hit 500whp ;)

Take a fox body mustang and about 5 grand (if you can do motor work yourself) build motor, add turbo=1000hp. Just watched in on horsepower TV two weeks ago. So you could easily build a fast cheap car. Fox body stangs and LS1 camaros are not that heavy. Definitely not tanks. Don't get me wrong love my honda. Just there are cheaper ways to 500hp than Supras and Vettes. I actually would love to turbo my car. Maybe when I get some money:) I agree witht the bike statement as well. If you really want a 10 second quarter mile buy a 2007 gsxr 750 for 7000 and run tens all night long.

5 grand and a fox huh... 1000whp... ha, thats a little bit of a stretch even if you can build a motor yourself. Got to love the 30 minute 1000whp fox for 5 grand on horsepower TV... sweet.

Although I would agree they are probably a better platform when your talking about going fast cheap. They are quite a bit lighter than a ellis juan car and the aftermarket is so well developed/ competitive its easy to get anything reasonably priced everywhere.

As a sidenote, my old 91 mustang could put 500 to the tire pretty easily... although it cost more than 5 grand. DSS pro bullet 306, trick flows, custom comp cam grind, gt40 upper/ lower, blah blah blah... hitting it with 175 shot. Ran good, did not keep it long enough to really play with it much, got offer good money from a friend who wanted the motor to put in his car with a blower.

Brother has always had mustangs till he moved over to ellis's for last few years... now he is back to a SUPER clean 93 notch. Its no slouch... :PDT_Armataz_01_11:
