Motor Mount Question

Post by UMR Racer »

I have been having a problem in my 2001 teg with it feeling(from shifter) like the motor is rolling front to back on downshifts and hard acceleration having had a motor mount break before on another car I figured I would check them. After looking at them from the surface they all seem to be fine but I can't see the bushing. I just wanted to know if there was something else that could cause this or is the one of the mounts that is know to go bad? Thanks in advance for the help.

I would use a breaker bar and jently move the motor. That is how I found a broken tranny mount that looked ok but when the engine was under load it was exposed

So I went and jacked up my car to look at them again and I realized that last time I forgot to check the two front lower ones lol. So here are the pictures of the front two and these look pretty bad so I'm thinking these are the problems. What do you think?

The energy suspension kit says that you can install it with messed up mounts because the poly goes around the rubber making it not matter that the rubber is torn. So do you think I could just add the energy suspension inserts and be fine or do you think I need to replace the OEM mounts then add the inserts?
