no cracker he means swap them cause there the same style plug and 80% of people when they swap get them backwards. There hooked to the same loom of wires and have identical clips, its a easy/honest mistake.Miggyp17;139232 wrote:the wiring its 2 diff plugs i belive like its not on the same plug the map sensor seems to be running fine with no codes as well

nope. they both run off of a 0-5 volt signal and since they both recieve a 0-5 volt signal even if they are backwards, they dont throw any codes.Miggyp17;139485 wrote:wouldnt it be throwing a code for map sensor?

but actually, i misread the orginal post. what i was talking about were the map sensor and the tps sensor. so just ignore what i had said.Miggyp17;139487 wrote:hmm ok well they are on 2 diff looms but hell its worth a shot ill try it when i get home

but... the cylinder position sensor is located in the distributor and you will have to replace the distributor if it is bad. do you have an extra distributor to swap out and see if that will fix the problem?

yes, the tps and map sensor plugs are swappable. normally i have seen that cars do not like to rev past 3000-4000rpms and not like to idle when those are hooked up backwards. as for as the distributor goes, im sure other people can answer that question better than i can. i would just be able to tell you that a distributor from an obd1 b16 car would work.
