vtec works in first, then after that it wont crack
hey all i have been drivin my b16a sir II for a bit now and its got a few things done to it, but as of lately i can take off from a stop light and it will crack vtec at 5400 like its suppose to but then after 1st gear it wont do it in any of the other gears. some of my friends cars have just mild ls' in them and basically thats what it feels like in mine after 1st just a little bit of pull and then shift, none of the fun is there anymore. any of you all heard of this by chance?

Do you have a factory honda ecu or a chipped one?
Could be oil pressure/level....a dirty vtec solenoid screen.....maybe a water temp sensor. Do you have any check engine lights on?

i would check your oil. we get tons of leaky preludes in for this, but it will cause a cel in them, yours probably wont.

I don't know if that would fix your particular problem....but they are tied together. I don't know if this option (vss w/vtec) was checked on or off on your chip. Can you access the .bin file on the chip and see?
