supercharging a z6?

Post by Prelude82 »

The Jackson Racing SC puts out 8psi. What would be considered over board? Do you know any good shop or anyone who could install and tune it right. Where could I find a used SC I have only seen new ones online. What else would I need?
The JRSC Kit contents and features Item

Supercharger Head Unit......................................Yes

Fuel Management Unit (FMU)...............................Yes

Self Contained (Tapping of oil pan not required)......Yes

Mounting Brackets, Hardware, & Hoses..................Yes

By-Pass Valve Kit..............................................Yes

High-Flow Fuel Pump..........................................Yes

Ignition Controller (Boost Retard)/Computer Chip.....NO

Intercooler/Aftercooler.......................................NO

K&N High-Flow Filter System................................Yes

So I would need an ECU and Intercooler.

New to SC asking alot of questions, but just want to make the right choices.
Thanks for your help.

In finding a used SC keep your eye on ebay. they show up every now and than and also on hondatech you should be able to find one for a good price. But 8psi is just fine for the h22.
You don't need a intercooler because there is no place to put one the supercharger sit right ontop of the intake manafold. And yes you need to eather get hondata ecu that already has a program made for the jackson racing kit. Or chip a ecu and get a wideband O2 and tune it yourself. And with the ecu you don't need the fmu because the ecu will take care of that part of the fuel. You will probably need to get bigger injectors like a cheap set of DSM 450 cc injectors.
In having it installed I'm sure adrenalin would install it but the kit is able to be by anyone, it would take you about a day to get the kit totaly installed and up and running. You just have to get it all tuned to run the sc since the h22 has 10:1 compression you have to be carefull about it or you will blow your motor.

Price, sound, good daily driving power, easy maintenance, easly to install, 100,000 mile warrenty so the kit will stand up to abuse, and still get 30+ mpg driving around normaly.
