Possible Injectors for 93 civic

Post by Jawsiiv »

About to purchase some injectors? A guy up the street trying to sell me some
DSM 450cc blue top injectors

will this work on my 93 civic coupe? Will it be a straight bolt on will I need an adapter to hook it up to my civic?

Thanks in advance

Eventually I will be turboing the ride,

But currently I have a CEL 43 going on in the ride. In another post, the car is sputtering at random times when hitting the pedal. It then idles extremely low....I have changed 02, plugs to NGK, Rotor, fuel filter.

Only things I believe I have left are the Fuel Pump, and the Injectors to replace. I figure since I have only had the car for 1 year, and I am going to need to replace the stuff anyway, I might as be proactive.... Also the price it will cost me to put it in the shop, just for them to rape me on per hour charges, just to do something I could do, I might as well just replace what I can to figure out

you cant just throw in 450's and expect it to drive normal, you"ll probably flood the motor, just find some oem stock replacement injectors, im sure there are plenty of people with them on here just gathering dust'

injectors take 5 minutes to install, dont pay a shop to do it'

and dsm injectors are not just a straight swap, they require a resistor box as well as tuning which than also requires some sort of aftermarket fuel management system

Thanks, question though.

Why is it that most sites say that putting 450 's in your car won't harm it. Most also go on to say that the extra fuel just goes back into you tank?
Just curious....

if your running bigger injectors you will mess with your a/f ratio. extra fuel goes back to the tank only if the regulator releases it when it reaches excess pressure. sence you would be running the same pressure your regulator wont open so you would just be dumping more fuel into your engine due to the larger injectors. did i answer your ?

if ur ecu thinks u have 240cc injectors and u put 450cc injectors in, then the 450cc injecttors will be dumpin what the 240cc injectors wer supposed to,only thte 450cc injectors dump more because theyflow more. so why would u think that more fuel when not needed wouldnt hurt anyting???? bottom line is ur injectors more than likely aint the problem. u say it sputters and stuff? check grounds, wireing, cap,,wires etc!
