Aftermart Camshafts....

Post by HondaChild »

Okay so I am looking for something new to do to the civic, and was thinking about getting a skunk2 stage 1 cam. My question is, how safe is that to run on a daily driven stock internals minime swap? would it be worth the money?

You should have no problems using the Skunk2 Stage 1 cam with your setup. Skunk2 says the cam is compatible with factory valvetrain. You probably won't see much of a gain without aftermarket valvetrain and headwork, but if you can pick one up for cheap, go for it. And I would definitely recommend getting the car tuned if you do go with an aftermarket cam.

Runsonrice has s2 stage 1 cam, port & polish, s2 valve train, s2 intake manifold, larger TB, AEM fuel rail and adjustable fpr.

Also he has a d16z6 to give some help on the motor.

It runs alright I think, but just the cam alone won't give you much power to feel.

Well I have a fully port and polished Y8 head on a Y7 bottom end. Also have full exhaust including header. I also plan on getting a Jackson Racing supercharger sometime in the near future.
