he says the guy he got it from said its a .57 compressor wheel trim .50 A/R compressor and .63 A/R turbine and could easily do 530 hp on a b series. seems kinda small to me for those numbers but then again idk. just figured id see if someone on here could help me out and see if it looks right. Thanks

looks tiny for an "easy to reach 530 hp" turbo

Best "for sure" way would be to take it apart and measure the wheels and housings.

looks like a straight t3

edit: saw you were just thinking about it.....reasonable max power I would think 320-360

You will not touch 500whp.....you will not touch 400whp.

It would be a good low end turbo....and will spool quick. 25psi won't get you close to 500 with that turbo. Hopefully he may just be confused or doesn't know, and not just trying to BS a sale.

thats definetly not a 50 trim with a .63 a/r exhaust... and it definetly doesnt look barely used. looks like it use to be painted orange WTF?

i would never buy a used turbo anyways not knowing where its been, how trashed it is and whether or not the seller is bullshitting or not. get a new one or dont get one at all. garretts are fairly cheap if you know where to look.

wow it's been awhile since i've seen a T3. they look like they've shrunk last i saw them lol. I'm used to seeing GTR's. 8~11psi you would be hitting max efficiency on a b18, after that the turbo would start to lose efficiency (fall straight on it's face) and you'll have a huge decrease in power.

Selecting a right turbo for your car requires a good mathematical equation and not guessing. It's a very tedious thing and if you hate math don't even bother just ask someone who's been around turbo's a lot and knows what would work for whatever motor you have.

most you'd get out of that turbo would be ~200hp or even less. Your torque definately will be out numbering your HP. that turbo is a way to small for your car assuming you have the b18. If you even high rev that turbo would fall straight on it's ass. The guy who is claiming to make 500hp off that turbo, is smoking something or doing drugs. :PDT_drug:

If you want a good efficient turbo for a b18 go with a t3/t04e, your car would love you.

A smaller greddy turbo can push low 200s on a 1.6 sohc motor....the t3 can push more than that easily on the 1.8.

on a sohc yes on a dohc no.. you'd end up choking it and losing efficiency in a bigger motor. Dohc's make way more energy then a Sohc.

Even if the turbo doesn't match as well......its still going to make (more or just as much) power.
