Redneck air filter?

I just did an overall check of my Civ, went to replace my air filter and found not one, not two, but eleven rags under a piece of wood. Could this have potentially messed up air induction as it was being suffocated?? Or are there other things I should look out for since I found that? Jeez

lol put a good air filter in there and see what it does then let us know post pics of the rags and wood

Oh god I have to see pics of this. Made my day better, thats hilarious. Yeah I would say that could be restrictive. And who is so cheap they won't buy a damn air filter? Its prolly about what 11 shop rags cost lol.
