well lets see. you have an up at 12 o clock , a mark at 9 oclock, a mark at 3 o clock. then u have the marks on the crank pulley. i assume(i use this word loosely) there is a mark on the t belt cover that indicates tdc. line up that white mark(or mark by itself) with that mark. and the rest is elementary

If it didnt seal on on the tranny side and you torqued it to spec in order then you most likely have a warped head. If you didnt foloow the torque pattern or didnt torque them all down, then you most likely warped the head.

EDIT, on the cam gear on a D15b7, the word UP goes up.

or you put the gasket on wrong lol. or got some dirt in between the surfaces.

make sure you tension the timing belt the correct way.

there is also timing mark on the oil pump and timing gear.

timing is fine, it was easy, but it had water on the gasket so it didnt seal. i put a lil gasket sealer on it when i put it back on, that part sealed but when i put one of the other bolts in i heard water come out, one of the back ones... so its got another leak, good thing i can get the head off in 15 min now... only a 45 min job for each fix... fucking sucks...3
think i might use gasket sealer on the whole outer part of it... seemed to work on one spot
