nothing you just drop the oil pan, remove the windage try, the oil pump and swap them out .. take about 3 hours with the motor in the car

thanks Chris! you know everything.
edit: now i've been lookin at OEM GSR pistons to up my compression. if i were to get All OEM Pistons, Rods and Rod bolts, would i need the ARP if im running GSR rod bolts?

actually im looking into P30 pistons because they will fit ls rods with no modification to the rod. they will give me more compression than ITR pistons, but less than CTR pistons.
its just my budget is so damn tight on this. $300 for OEM honda P30 pistons, rings, and wrist pins.

-rod bolts dont need to be pressed in or outdamnit*;114303 wrote:Uhm, the 8mm bolts just slip into the rods and dont have to be pressed in? I dunno, but I find this hard to believe.
Either way, the old rod bolts have to be pressed out before the new ones can be pressed in. When this is done, the big end of the rod will need reconditioned because it will be out of round.
-but what you were refering to the warping of the big end of the rods is explained in the quote taken from this thread
http://hondaswap.com/general-tech-artic ... tec-85477/
-"Everyone who is anyone will now agree, that it is MANDATORY that you install ARP rod bolts. LS rod bolts are the same exact rod bolts that come factory in sohc dseries motors. This is THE single point of failure on LS blocks. It's not the rods, or anything else, it's the rivet sized rod bolts. Upgrade to ARP rod bolts! Now for the rods, if you plan on staying with the stock rods, which is perfectly fine, it would be smart to shotpeen them. This will improve the tensile strength of the rod. Just a small piece of mind when you're at 9k. Some shops charge extra for this, some include it with there rebuilds...but either way, it's cheap so do it. You should also have your rod's journal's (big ends) resized when you install ARP rod bolts. Alot of people will say it's not necessary, but ARP recommends it. Pay the extra few bucks to have this done, again for peace of mind. ARP doesn't make any money off of this, so why do they recommend it? Because the extra torque placed on the rods using their rod bolts has the tendency to "warp" the big end of the rods."

well i understand being low on cash...second i do belive that driver error is 95% or all engine problems and 5% the build and what you put into it...if you put sum good parts in and some shitty ones everything u think that is good is shit...basicly....ur just wasting your time so get all the parts u need first and put it all together....its a long process....i been saving for 6 months to do my build and dale has kicked my ass a few times about asking questions...but dale, GMR, tom, and steph to touch my car....
You can talk shit all you want! eventually noone will care about your input. :yo:
