uh... arp rod bolts are important if you plan on revving higher than a stock LS

yes ARP's are required if you plan on making any power or reving over the factory ls redline.
and yes i am using them now and alex will be using them when we rebuild his motor

i don't recommend running arp mains unless you have your block line honed , apperently since you tourqe the main studs down more then factory specs it has a tendency to pull the crank mains out of wack and cause premature bearing wear.
so i am using arp rods and head but stock mains that way i dont have to worry about this issue and stock mains are plenty for any na motor.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
so i'll be okay running my stock rod bolts, just as long as i dont rev to high?
because im on a tight budget for this build and i dont got the funds to have that done.
What would you guys recommend me doing? how long has allex had his like that?

I did not have them on my LSVTEC, but I didnt rev past 7k either. Wish I wouldve though, mightve saved the engine from rod bearing failure.

take this to heart .. if your not going to spend the money then dont do the conversion .. you will NEVER get the performance out of the motor if you don't do the rod bolts.eh2_Erik;114109 wrote:Thanks for the feedback guys.

if your short on cash you should not be trying to mod your motor. The arp rod bolts are dirt cheap and worth the money, 60.00 to know your motor has less chance of blowing up when you over rev it from miss shifting. And don't say you wont because i Did and i am about 5g in the negative because of that little mishap
