So my brother from Chicago is here in STL visiting during his spring break.
The other day we decided to clean the TB ad IACV valve on his 99 SI (B16).
Right after we replaced the TB gasket and cleaned the TB ad IACV with intake cleaner, we get a CEL.
Autozone OBD2 reader says P0505 code which means the AICV malfunction.
The car runs OK, until it gets warm, then it has a really bad RPM surging issue when you step on the gas.
In other words, the engine keeps jerking back and forth rapidly.
We swapped out his IACV with the one out of my JDM B16A swap (my car runs perfect) and that didn't fix the problem.
So I'm at work right now, he needs to get back to Chicago tomorrow night, I'm going to work on it tomorrow, but want some ideas of what I should check tomorrow and what could be causing this issue.
Thanks for reading.

P0505 code, Help!
ok youre getting a code for the iacv. its pretty simple. it goes like this.
ecu ----> wiring ----> iacv
you replaced the iacv with a known good one and you reset the ecu right and it didnt fix the surging problem and you still got a code?
well the only things left as you can see above would be the wiring or the ecu.
there you have it.
which i highly doubt, i think youre just doing something stupid like not plugging the iacv back in...

fixed it
well, didn't get a chance to read your post, mike93hatch until now, because as soon as I got up sunday, I left to go fix my lil bro's car, luckily my laptop was in my car and I remembered that I had a PDF file of a dealer's honda manual, it's like 2400 pages I think. So I searched in there and found a troubleshooting guide for the code, followed the flowchart and found out that after we swapped out the IACV with a know good one and but the old one back in, we forgot to plug it in because I was in a hurry go get to work, but that wasn't the problem, because the day before it was plugged in and it was still messing up. But I adjusted the Idle speed on the TB according to the manual, and now it runns like never before. I'm going to try to find out where I found the manual, because there were others where I got it from, maybe we could make a sticky with the links to the manuals...
