Header Wrap Question
I wanted to wrap my header because I like the look and the lower under hood temp. I was reading some info and found that some people were having problems with their DC headers because the extra internal heat from the wrap was cause the welds to deteriorate. I just wanted to know if anyone on here had wrapped DC headers. The header that I would be wrapping would be a DC one piece ceramic 4-1 so there are few welds.

Header Wrap Question
From what i have read(never experanced in person) the problem is with the heat trapped, the headers expand and contract more causing the welds to crack. Kinda like bending a pice of metal back and forth until it breaks. Not wrapping the welds would not fix the issue, just move it way from the welds.
Honestly unless your having heat issues or your running a full race car, I would not bother.

well... then of course there is the overwhelming quality of DCsports products... but I am sure that has nothing to do with the problems :rolleyes:btlfedgolf;100936 wrote:From what i have read(never experanced in person) the problem is with the heat trapped, the headers expand and contract more causing the welds to crack. the other issue is that the wrap can hold water against the header causing it to rust...

I would just rather have it black than that ugly silver.

this thread failed quickly.
when its in the car the ceramic coating will look better than black. black is too obvious and will show a lot more discoloration and crap on it.
