I found my red at O'Riellys Auto Parts.
Here is what mine looked like after I sandblasted, painted and pollished the letters....

cool, so if i can only find black, i could just go over the wrinkled black finish with a regular red right?
also..g3integragsr, was yours smooth when you started, or did it have a little wrinkle finish to it already?

you will want to strip all the paint off the valve cover. use aircraft remover. and no just find the red wrinkle paint if red is what you want. there are autozones and oreilys everywhere, one of them will have it.

I agree with Mike, if you want red....just get the red paint. Someone around you will have it.big pipe;100349 wrote:cool, so if i can only find black, i could just go over the wrinkled black finish with a regular red right?

My valve cover was smooth when I started, instead of stripping the paint I sandblasted it.
