how to get hp out of a ls non vtec engine

my buddy is having issues and wants the most power out of it. he does not want to turbo it or bottle it he wants to go na. the lsnon vtec is also in a completly stripped 92 hatchback that has alot of suspension done to it.

so far his mods are

full exhaust
stage 2 crowler cams
skunk 2 cam gears
cold air intake

any ideas would be awesome. also he is looking for some out side stuff to like cf hood and lip and some stuff.

pistons.... he can add all the boltons in the world, with the low compression in the LS motors he will make dick for power without putting higher compression pistons in.

then with the pistons:
ARP headstuds, main bolts, rod bolts
full valvetrain

then he can rev a little more and actually start to benefit from the CROWER cams

terry is it teal? seen it at lowe getting tune.. man that think is rough tell him to make it prettier that way it wont have to be fast

but yea need high comp pistons and alot of head work plus what tranny does he have cause a b16 tranny will help out also

tell him if he want some runs i am down in my green hatch or the red one once its up in running in 2 weeks

yea that was his. he dynoed 138 and 123lbs of torque which isnt bad. but yea he wants to make it fast before it looks good for some reason. i want to make it flat black or something but nobody wants to help us.

a n/a straight LS ? no vtec head? :morons:

its going to cost ALOT more to make a n/a LS run the same times as a turbo LS. so why would someone want to do that?

probably because they are scared of reliabilty. turbo engines are just as reliable as a n/a engine.. its just that most people around here dont have a clue what theyre doing and do everything real cheap. you get what you pay for. ask me how reliable my car is. i would drive it across country and back in a heartbeat. actually i have driven it hours away on several occasions....boostin all the way there

(setup is a year and a half old with many many miles on it)

Yep, and I have the pistons hell need, but theyre pending sale.. lol.
