anyone know how to do an ITB setup on a B18A1 motor?
Just seeing if it would be easier to an ITB setup than Turboing it? If it's easier and cheaper, then I think I'll go that route if anyone can help? or would it be best if I just built and turbo'd the motor? thanks in advanced guys?

itb's are going to be a waste of time/money without the right supporting mods......there basically a last to do mod after your motor is built for na, im talking about bottom end, head, high comp, stage 3 cams etc'
$1200 itb's on a stock motor are not going to yield much gain, nor be that suitable for a daily driver'
my .2cents, build the bottom end & boost it'

also with boost you dont always have to build the motor to make some decent power, depending on the millage and condition of your motor right now you could assemble a full turbo kit with all part and have it tuned for probley under 1k.justme5424;98114 wrote:Just seeing if it would be easier to an ITB setup than Turboing it? where itbs done right will cost you around 1k just in parts no tuning and no supporting motor mods.
itbs are designed for high comp high reving motors, your ls unless you do a ls/vtec set up will never be that reliably

You can use some from a CBR and retro-fit them. Thats pretty a common way on Honda motors. You will need to tune it with some type of engine management tho (E-Manage, NEO, possibly Hondata)

you are overlooking the fact that it would be COMPLETELY RETARDED to put ITBs on a stock b18a/b. and for the same price as boosting the car (once you consider the price of welding and adapting the cbr itbs and tuning) you will see no real gains with ITBs compared to the 100+ horsepower from boosting.02Type-S;98172 wrote:You can use some from a CBR and retro-fit them. then you factor in our climate, and I would bet that boosting would run MORE reliably than itbs around here.

you would get more power out of a skunk 2 manifold, and a oversized single throttle body
this space for rent

yea and on a stock b18 motor that"ll be good for 5whp
boost it and call it a day, want to feel better about it? Do some better pistons/rods then boost it and call it a day'.

And you are overlooking the fact that all I did was answer the question he posted in his title. Did I say it would be reliable, or give him a bunch or horsepower? No. I know it wont, I'm not an idiot. Of course boost is better, you really can't compare the two. Especially while working with a B18.Spork;98173 wrote:you are overlooking the fact that it would be COMPLETELY RETARDED to put ITBs on a stock b18a/b. and for the same price as boosting the car (once you consider the price of welding and adapting the cbr itbs and tuning) you will see no real gains with ITBs compared to the 100+ horsepower from boosting.
