compression test

would doing a compression check when an engine doesnt have an intake manifold or exhaust manifold on hurt the engine and/or have an effect on the readings one would find?

I dont think it would huurt it at all. The valves are what is regulating the pressure in the cyl. Just make sure the car is not going to try and kick over and run on 3 cyl.

EDIT: i am an idiot.....no IM means no injectors, so it wont try to start.

no, compression check will still work with no intake/ exhaust manifolds.
