vtec = minimum amount of gain
turbo = moderate to max amount of gain

vtec = cheap
turbo = cheap to expensive (though the cheaper the parts, the cheaper the quality)

both can make the engine last just as long as the other as long as you plan it all out, get good parts, get a good tune, and dont do anything stupid.

in this case, just do a mild boost setup. the b20b in stock form is 8.8 cr not to good to make any good gains with vtec. besides that u need other upgrades when doing the vtec conversion. mild boost is ur best bet in this case. check the sig, i speak facts

this is true. the 'vtec conversion' option would have to involve rod/main bolts and pistons (and bigger cams IMO) to make any kind of real gains. so you'd end up spending about as much as you would on a moderate turbo setup... so just boost it.

yup, you could drop $1000+ switching to vtec and maybe gain 50 hp
or spend $1000+ boostin' it, and see over 100 hp gain

boost, vtec is DECENT n/a high comp, but with your stock comp ratio, best bang for the buck is boost.
