04 TL - Power Steering Pump question

Hey guys, need some help. I'm uber new to Honda's/Acura's.

I came home today and noticed there was a huge puddle of yellowish colored fluid on the ground on the side where my power steering is. I popped the hood and there is power steering fluid everywhere by the power steering canister.

It appears I still have power steering when driving but the thing makes a horrendous noise when the steering wheel is turned. What's really weird is that I had the car at the Acura dealership yesterday to have them look at the tranny and they said they did a full inspection of the car and had it up on the rack and everything and that everything looked ok. I'm not going to drive the car to work tomorrow in fear that I might screw something else up.

Would it be safe to assume my power steering pump is out? Any idea how much this fix would cost? Is this something I have to have a dealership do or that myself and friends can do?

sounds more like you sprung a leak in a line, or the cap was left off the reservior or something... I think the first step would be to refill the system and see if you can better daignose where the problem is coming from. Ibelieve the sound is just the pump whining and moaning about not having fluid in it.

Negative. Old used piece of crap. Think its time to trade it in. lol
