Anyone got a H22 CRX?

Post by RyanA »

H series swap only weighs about 60 lbs more than a B swap. It's easy to tell if you have a "traction control" (ATTS) swap as there will be a huge box bolted to the engine instead of a regular half shaft. Mike recently sold an ATTS swap on here for $500. You would have needed an H22 trans ($300-500) and you would have needed to build an adaptor plate (cost of metal; do it yourself) plus the halfshaft itself (50 bucks). An H22 or F swap will make a TON more torque stock. torque is what accelerates you from a stop.

B16 power/torque: Power: 160 hp (118 kW) @ 7600 rpm & 111 ft·lbf (151 N·m) @ 7000 rpm

H22 power/torque: Max power: 190PS/187hp (CD6 Accord); 200PS (BB1/4/6 Prelude SiR's); 220PS (Euro-R & Prelude Type-S) ;A7 220bhp DIN (Type-R)(142–164 kW)
Max torque: 156–167 ft·lbf (207–217 Nm)

So, figuring the highest HP B16A VS the lowest HP H22, you get an increase of 27 horsepower and 45 torque. This is A LOT. I'd love to see a fairly stock B16 put out 156-167 torque. Not happening without a lot of money...

F series engines are VERY cheap to buy. The one my friend had installed in the hatch I had was low mile and he paid $410 for it from a place in Kansas City. It was an F23 VTEC from a 1999 Accord and it had very low miles.

reading things on the interweb aren't always true... other people don't know what they are talking about either..

your right, it doesn't count. burn sauce.
I laughed at this one, and vtec is wired in on that car. Everyone and there mom was cutting wires on the days im not in town, he drove it a few days ago and says it was running fine. So I haven't a clue of what your speaking of. As for burn sauce trying to be gay isn't the greatest thing, all I was trying to tell you is I know you and you do shit on a budget and doing a H22 isn't a cheap budget and the money you spend on all of it you coulda made a really nice B18 turbo.

Simple as that.

H22 is a cheap budget. You can pick them up as cheap as b16 swaps now days. Plus if your doing the work yourself, might be a bit more work but it's worth it. If you have never owned a h22 then you can't really talk much. I've owned a little bit of everything & by far the h22 is my first choice of motor, well maybe the K soon but haven't got to get mine in yet.

No i didn't dip out, I work outta town so when I am in town I work on it. The swap got finished then EJ did the wiring but wired 2 backwards, so we got it all together and done.

As for the cage going in, it's cause I want it in. It's to get it out the way since it's in the body shop since it got the windows and shit busted out in my driveway when I was in texas. Might as well cage it and paint it for the price I got it all for.

Only good price I seen on a h22 was mike93hatch's which he let got for a retarded good price. If you can find one like that then hell yeah but if you can't then theres no real reason to spend a great amount of money on a project you won't keep. I just thought you would do the b18 turbo since you did good with the ratasshole project is all but tis up to you what ya wanna do.

Who said this guy wasn't keeping it? You could build either car for cheap. If you had a budget on both, you could build both for cheap. Just about sourcing parts.

I'm pretty sure brandon will build then sell, he does build some really good hp cars. The ratasshole him and kopsie did changed how I look at mustangs to tell ya the truth but honestly I don't see him in little cars like this, it's like he said he's bored of 12 second cars so why would he want a 13 or 14 second car.

I mean seriously he has a bike, a awd dsm, who knows how many mustangs he has. He has everything he wants on speed, I would just think he would do a b18 turbo but it's his choice on what he does.

I don't doubt though he will give us some competition cause that's what he does the best. Him and Kopsie working on this car will be game over, they may hate me for whatever reason they do but I will give credit where it's due on what they build.

I also can't say Brandon wasn't there when I turbo'd my fodo and blew the head gasket down the road from his house, cause he did help me find out what happened.
