Well, I'm definitely not going eBay turbo. I've heard too many mixed things. It's hit or miss with those, but that's a good start.

I've found a couple of things so far..
38mm Tial wastegate from 99blackhatch for $150
Blox turbo manifold because I can retain A/C, P/S, and full size radiator for $179 - also get two 38mm flanges for the wastegate mount
Used eBay intercooler for $75, but I'm iffy on that.

I think I might pass the intercooler for now and get the wastegate and manifold for now.

Any objections to the Blox Turbo Manifold? I researched around a little on H-T after I found it and one guy has been running one for 40,000 miles with no problems. They sound pretty good.

After I get things running, I'm sure I'd get an itch to upgrade parts, but for now, that'd do just great.

AndyJT, are you for sure about the emissions testing being local to your address? I know that was the rule back when no shops could do it, but maybe with the change to opened shops, it's different..? Just tossing out ideas.

I've got a Inline Pro T3 stainless steel log manifold for sale. Best log manifold on the market.

Goodluck on your build.

:goodpost: for that amount of money your going to end up most likely replacing some of the turbo parts again!... I'm thinking Manifold most likely.. make your budget a lil bigger and than you can get better parts!

Why do you think that? If Blox gives out a lifetime warrenty for it, I would think that they would be making a good product. It's about the same style as the InlinePro and seems of good quality.

Here's a thread on it:http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2185360

And another: http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=972479

I was never expecting to only spend $1,000. And after delving into this more, I'm expecting anywhere from $1,500 to upwards of $2,000. I've edited a couple of my posts, changing number figures to match these.

I've definitely decided to not get the used eBay intercooler. It looked like a POS. I'm ordering the Blox manifold tonight and (hopefully) picking up the Tial wastegate this weekend.

lol and thanks for that JesSi. I need someone to knock some sense into me.

yeah, building d vs. b series kits are very different. it would be possible to turbo for under $1000 on a d-series, not so much a b.

as far as cast manifolds (like the BLOX manifold) you will be fine. that thing will be a tank and won't break on you. it won't flow quite like a tubular, but it will hold up forever. so as long as you aren't shooting for stupid high horsepower numbers, that manifold will be plenty.
This post comes with a guarantee: I guarantee that I don't care what you think about it.
