FITV Idle Question

Post by UMR Racer »

I just fixed my FITV valve and the idle problems have stopped but what should be the idle once the car is warmed up. Right now it idles a 500rpms after warmup so i was thinking i should raise it up a bit.

it should be right at 600. Have you clean Your IACV lately? or messed with the idle adjustment screw on the throttle body?

Idle air control valve cleaning...

Adjusting Idle Speed....

I have my idle adjusted up to 800rpms, this is to to the stiffend motor mounts and the excessive vibrations in the car because of them. Making the car idle higher helps counter the problem

If you still have the OEM hood on the car, look at the vacuum diagram sticker on the bottom of the hood. It will tell you what the factory specs are for the idle on your car.
