if its some ebay "underdrive pulley" then just throw it in the trash and stick the oem damper back on before you trash your oil pump and then your motor.

Dont bash me for asking, but is he talking about a crank pulley or an alt pulley? (I agree with you guys if it is an aftermarket crank pulley)
My AEM pulley set says underdrive on it and it doesnt replace the crank pulley.
If it is an alt pulley, if you still have the belts off of the car, I can help you decipher the part number on the belts, (the belts overall length is built into the parts number)
I also have about 7 honda drive belts in my garage so I can measure them for comparison, if you cant read the part numbers on the belts, if that would help

instead of your oil pump you are messing with your alt bearings. They are all poorly balanced.Sleepy Civic DX;78298 wrote:Dont bash me for asking, but is he talking about a crank pulley or an alt pulley? (I agree with you guys if it is an aftermarket crank pulley)

EDIT: If you really neeed a belt, take your old one to the parts store, they have a tool for measuring.

Not a quality pulley, I have ran both aem and unorthadox racing between my motors and never had a problem, if the pulley isnt torqued down correctly and it wobbles it could wear bearings, but I dont see a reason otherwise. I have also worked on a car where the belt was on the wrong spot on the crank (a/c was removed) and it messed the alt. up.btlfedgolf;78299 wrote:instead of your oil pump you are messing with your alt bearings. not trying to start a pissing match with you, but I think pulleys (not the crank pulley of course) is a viable and safe bolt on

its not a damper thats whats wrong with it. same as the ctr. if u do not balance all of the things in the rotating, u will have problems!

Just because something is not good does not mean you will put it on your car and suddenly everything will break. Parts like alternator and crank pulleys will shorten the life of parts causing premature wear. Its not going to toast your bearings from the start, but they will go out alot sooner than usual. Same with the crank. It can cause minor crank deflection causing your main bearings to wear quicker. You can take the parts to get balanced so that they wont cause as much wear, but the gains are nowhere dear the price+price of balancing that it will cost.Sleepy Civic DX;78300 wrote:Not a quality pulley, I have ran both aem and unorthadox racing between my motors and never had a problem, if the pulley isnt torqued down correctly and it wobbles it could wear bearings, but I dont see a reason otherwise.
