spark plug sleeve

This is similar to what I use.

On a 4 cylinder with the plugs straight up it would only take about 10 minutes to do the repair.
We put at least one a month in Ford 4.6/5.4's. Permanent repair, and never had one come out. Some will use Heli-Coil, but I have never had great success on spark plugs as you will distort the end when you break the tang off.

timesert is your friend.. i used their d16 head bolt thread kit on 5 of my threads in the block and that was on a boosted engine. stronger than stock threads.

just a quick insert, but pulling the plugs out of a hot alum. cylinder head can mess/take the threads out. Your engine should always be cold before you pull plugs......

Did you read the plug when you pulled it out? that would offer some insight as to what happened.

And finally I agree with Spork's point of view. To fix this cheaply you need a heli-coil or a spark plug repair kit.. I think carquest has some good options.

Otherwise the correct way to fix it would be to pull the head and have a machine shop repair it or replace the head.
