I got this from the factory service manual, at one point in time. Not sure if it was the civic or integra manual:civicex442;75543 wrote:everyone knows what pin im talking about. the nasty horrible one that holds the linkage to the tranny. i want to buy the right size punch to make things easier
Take one of the exhaust bolts out (the one that holds the downpipe to the front of the cat), and the narrowed tip is the exact diameter to use as a punch to drive out the linkage pin at the tranny. And since it's a shouldered bolt, the threads won't get messed up.
I don't know if the Honda engineers designed it this way, or just noticed this trick after-the-fact, but it's always worked for me for the B and D trannys.

Having trouble with the "bitch pin"?
I couldnt get it off of my d-series tranny and just pulled the motor with the linkage attached. Call me lazy, but I am not creative enough to come up with these crazy ideas.
When I pulled it off of the b-series, I just bought a cheap punch set from sears. and beat it out. The set has a couple of different sizes in it, you should get one that works.
