What is required to do a succesful mini-me swap? I know the head but what are the odds and ends no one thinks about at first?

doing a y8 head and IM on a y7 block is stright up affair, super easy.

the obdII motors have the oil jet in the head so you dont have to worry about removing it from the block, plus the y7 and y8 blocks are identical so you can reuse the timing belt and just purchase new head studs or bolts. Obviously you will also need a new head gasket, fluids, intake tube, ecu and have to run wires for vtec to the ecu and pin the harness.

doing a head swap on your car would be about a 4-5 hour job and i know for a fact that atleast 3 of us have EVERY part you need and the headgasket it a stocking item at the zone or honda

If you can afford to boost a D, you can afford a D motor.

I was talking about not being able to afford boosting a D.

like i said SAVE your money and dont waste it on things like head swaps. i saved for a year to do my turbo install, imo a mini me is not worth it. you would be better off doing things like a y8 intake, header, exhaust. trust me that y8 head is not gonna do much.

ill take the sound of a BOV over vtec any day.

i drove my crx boosted everyday for 3 years, never had a problem. its not the turbo that makes the car unreliable its the person that builds the kit and installs it...
