this is true i put e85 in my car once to try and pass emissions and it ran awsome not one problem but it still didnt passtwkdcd595;55536 wrote:e85 is pump gas and would handle 12:1 without a problem... would make some great power too.

someone else mentioned running e85 and i got sidetracked but i remember wanting to further investigate that idea.
setup is
d16a6 block
a1 pistons
.027" hg (using this hg will net 12.5:1)
z6 head
havn't decided on stock or stage 1 cam that i have or just go stage 3
if i can tune to 93 i'd be ok with that but i wanted to know if other people were in the 12 c/r area.

With those specs, your at 14.1:1.stlsupra;55577 wrote:someone else mentioned running e85 and i got sidetracked but i remember wanting to further investigate that idea.

And it may be dependent on what cam you use, but I'm sure you will need modifications to the head and a real good tune to use a Stage 3.

i get 12.505984571299928:1 on both sites.
block is being bored out .5mm and i've read that the a1 pistons change the piston to deck height to .040
unless i'm doing something wrong????

I'm using Knology. Somehow I completely missed the piston-to-deck height portion. So, let me get the right...stlsupra;55587 wrote:using http://www.knology.net/~jediklc/dcalc.htm OR

Deck Height - Compression Height - Rod Length - (Stroke/2) = Piston Deck Clearance
So that means...
212-29-137-(90/2)=1
That means your compression ratio is 3.8:1 :dunno:

my book says the stroke is 3.46" wich is 87.884mm formula doesn't say how it wants its numbers? but reading d-series i found a couple spots were people say the piston deck with A1 is .04 so since it was on the internet i believe it
