will it work?

Post by civic4life13 »

i am putting in a d16z6 motor into my civic which has a d16y8 motor. i was wondering what problems that might occur.
the z6 is a automatic and the y8 is a manual. thanks in advance.

just make sure to reuse all of your y8 intake/exhaust/emission ecu stuff and you will be fine

:whs: The only problem I think you will run into is the crank angle sensor. The Z6 has it in the dizzy (You can't use the Z6 dizzy due to it being OBD1) and the Y8 has it on the block.

Its OBD1 and its better for boost due to the compression ratio.

run the CKP sensor in the Distributor and re-wire the y8 harness for the z6 distributor and z6 dist plug. Works perfect, done it before. Only downfall is the Misfire detection wont work.
