Tune Up stuff and motor questions

Post by ZenkiS14 »

Motor: D16Z6 Bone stock, gonna stay that way.

Once i get some income coming in, i want to do a full good tune up on my new car, 94 Civic Si. I have a few questions about stuff, cause this is all new to me. Im looking more for reliability and OEM running quality rather than high performance. This is my daily driver, and wont ever see a single engine modification. So heres what im wondering...

What are the best plugs to run? NGK Coppers?

What are the best OEM replacement wires to run? NGK?

How often should i change the fuel filter? and how hard is it?

Do i have to run Mid-grade gas?

K&N filter replacement for factory air box a good idea?

Thanks guys. :D

-NGK OEM replacements
What are the best OEM replacement wires to run? NGK?
-OEM plug wires or NGK's

-15 min job and this one is up to you cause my car 170+ miles on the OEM one
Do i have to run Mid-grade gas?
-No 87 is fine, your have a normal compression motor
K&N filter replacement for factory air box a good idea?

-I use OEM NGK plugs
-I run NGK wires or Other Upgraded wires
-I change my fuel filter every 20k like it's suppose to be done
-I run 89 midgrade in my car
-As Chris said K&N is great filter replacement unless your changing intakes, reason being the K&N is made of a different material so all you do is clean it out and use the recharge stuff on it and its new again and best of all you only buy the filter once.

-Honda recommends the fuel filter change at 100k, not 20k
-You only need 87. Its a stock D16.

Your also on a higher compression motor Kyle is on a D16Z6 so 87 should be fine for gas for him.
