Ok well I was just driving it normal yesterday and when I started to go from a stop the car died. Like it still had power like the radio and everything but the engine stopped. So I tried to start it and it cranks but it sounds like its out of fuel. But it has fuel and also the VAFC doesn't come on at all either. When the car stopped the VAFC turned off. I was just wondering if anyone has some clues. We thought maybe the dizzy but replaced that and no go there. So now we are thinking the head gasket is blown. I have had an overheating problem but its only boiled the extra coolant in the overflow. And I have always watched my temp gauge when it works and always put my heat on full blast. So what do you guys think? AndyJT is gonna come over tonight and do a compression test but what about the VAFC problem? Does anyone think it could be the ecu? The only reason I say that is because the VAFC is ran through the ecu I believe. Well thanks for everyones help.

Where does the VAFC draw its power from? If your vafc is dead does it stop and signals(like map sensor) from getting to the ECU?

main relay is under the dash, near the hood release.
easiest way to check is to put yout ear down there and turn teh key, if you hear one click its alright, a lot of clicks = its fried, no clicks = its fried
