S.o.s. Help

Post by 99SilverCX »

I put a b16a into my 99 cx, can't get the motor to start. Sometimes it starts a little, but dies,
details about the swap:
JDM obd1 b16a
P30 ECu
00 EX harness
Boomslang Fab. OBD2b-OBD1 jumper harness

Here's what I've done already:
checked spark plugs, all the wires have spark,
checked timing, the notches on the gears line up perfectly when the crank pulley is lined up to the line,
gets gas into the cylinders, the plugs were wet with gas when I checked them
I wired the MAP sensor to the firewall
NO CEL

I need to the car to run ASAP, I would like to have someone come out to help, your help is appreciated, if we get my car running, I will reward all the help ( I think gas cards are handy these days)

Please call 636-497-9785 with tips, or post them in here,
thanks,
Andrew

You wired the map sensor to the firewall? Obviously turning over your getting a harsh smell of gas cause if the plugs are wet that means its not fireing from there, try just changeing the plugs out right quick yeah its a far fetched idea but I had that same problem with mine when I brought it home after a few days it just would crank but no fire and the plugs were wet with gas so I changed out the plugs and it fired up took a second to run right cause it had to burn the shit in the cylinders out that I put in it trying to start it but it runs good now.

If I was you also I would do standard maintance on the motor itself if you haven't done it already, plugs, wire, cap, rotor bug, oil change. Even if it don't start those are things you want done anyways even if your on a budget.

I changed the rotor cap and bug already, filled it with oil, I guss I'll change the plugs tomorrow.
