Best way to do it is drop the oil pan, pull the valve cover, pull the head off after disconnecting everything, un bolt the rods and push the pistons out one at a time and setting them back in order. Cleaning everything and inspecting it as you go, then replace the rings on each piston and put them back in, the order they came out and in the reverse fashion put the car back together and torque everything down to spec, if your taking the rods out anyways you might as well replace the rod bearings and take it easy on the motor afterwards.

Someone else might have a easyer way to do this but I always find it if I'm doing any of this I am gonna replace some things while I'm in there that could possibly need maintance. I of course would drive the car its 500 miles then re-torque the head studs then drive it another 200 then do it's oil change and then go out and stomp the shit outta it but of course thats me.

doesnt sound too complicated, how much are a new set of rings, rod bearings, all the gaskets, a new timing belt, arp head studs and a 30 pack of beer

corey's pretty much right, you would have to hone the cylinders though so that the rings would get a good seat. as for bearings if they are in good shape reuse them just put them back exactly where they came from.

edit: you would also have to set the ring gap.

Werd thanks Stolle I forgot to mention the honeing part and as for priceing with all the stuff your looking for I would check ebay for a head gasket set from felpro or something cause you can get them a tad bit cheaper as well as the other items but research them to make sure there of good quality before purchasing.
