Is anyone using a CTR N1 crank pulley on their B Series?
I don't have a/c or power steering so that's not an issue. I have an Unorthadox Lightweight Underdrive Crank Pully but I've read the stories of them causing problems, and I figured going with a OEM Honda part can't be that bad.
Thanks for any insight...

The thing that I've heard about aftermarket crank pullies is something about it doesn't have a balencer and the stock ones do. Or something like its not balenced correctly. I can't remember exactly. Anyone else know?granturismonut;31158 wrote:Is anyone using a CTR N1 crank pulley on their B Series?

yep can cause damage resulting in failure of oil pump, which is obviously the heart of a motor. But i know a buddy of mine has a light weight pulley on his gsr and for a few years now... i still wouldnt chance it but your not me so you decide.

the B16 is internally ballenced, and the ctr crank pully comes pre balenced so it wont throw anything off i know that for a fact..
my question is will it work on a d series... i want the ctr pully because i have no ac or ps and it only weights 3ish pounds instead of 10 stock.. i dont see why the teeth or anything would be different??

that's pretty much the same thing I've read over and over, and exactly why I'm not going to use the Unorthodox pulley.
I'll probably pick one up while I'm waiting on the tranny to come back.

yes its balanced, but it still doesn't have a dampner, so vibrations are still there. just because an engine is balanced doesnt mean there isn't any harmonic vibrations, during every power stroke your crankflexes creating these vibrations. It was made for road racing cars that go through engines like women go through tampons. It is NOT a pulley for a regular street cars.MidoriMiller;31168 wrote:the B16 is internally ballenced, and the ctr crank pully comes pre balenced so it wont throw anything off i know that for a fact..

From what I have seen on Honda Tech is that these can ruin your motors by not letting the oil pump turn or something like that. I thought about putting one of these on my car but decided not to bc of all the people on there saying not to and by reading what happened to some of the mtors. Ill try to find a link to it.
