eg sedan, missing rear speakers

when i bought the car it didnt have rear speakers. the other day i picked up a set of 6.5's for the rear and noticed there is no visible wiring anywhere. in every sedan ive ever seen they have holes cut into the rear deck with grilles. those are not there on mine. just smooth carpet. it also seems that no speaker had ever been in the rear because there isnt one scratch from mounting screws. my question is: did some not come with rear speakers? ive heard of hatches not having them but never sedans

IIRC, only the Si came with rear speakers in the 5th gens.
