I just want some suggestions as to where there is a good reliable local place to get a head port and polish done?

and how quick/slow is he? $90 is great if it only takes him 3 or 4 hours of work to do it, but if it takes him 20 hours of work..... $90 x 20 = a lot.

he charges for how long you want him to work on it. 1 hour is enough to polish an entire head. 2 hours is more porting than you will need on a boosted application. so...

I am getting a port polish job on my head that includes a large port job of the exhaust and a small port job on the intake and a polish of both. All of this only takes about an hour. If it takes longer than what you paid foor then he wont charge, but this shouldnt happen.

if i were you, i would get the intake ported more than the exhaust. with you having a turbo, you want the exhaust to be a little smaller than the intake to keep the velocity of the gasses up to help spool the turbo.

i would also recommend to not polish the intake side and instead go with more of a matte finish. if you polish the intake side the fuel doesnt atomize with the air as good.

also, how much does he charge for putting in bigger valves?

well "big" is an overstatement, the exhaust is ported more than the intake side. I have a ZC with its bastard offset remember lol.

Its more or less of "rough polish" I dont know he exact lingo, but the polishing leaves super small grooves in the head that help with fuel atomization but still leave it smooth to the touch and much better flowing than the stock heads.

I honestly dont remember, you'll have to stop by there and get a qoute...

I know....

But yes I do!!

AMT Racing Engines
715 S. Florissant
Ferguson MO 63135
(314)522-6222
www.amtracingengines.com

Doug is the one that does the porting and polishing, Jerry does most of the valve work.

To get there take I-70 to Florissant Rd then go North, AMT is a mile and a half up the road on the left.
