VTEC is not a magic power switch. Once I get my dyno charts up, you'll see that there's no rediculous jump in power or torque once the high cam kicks in. There are plenty of videos of dumbasses running a "high cam" profile all the time, like "VTEC is always on." Without individual throttle bodies and/or an aggressive tune, they idle and run like shit below the rpm where they become efficient. That's the whole point of VTEC, smooth transition from low to high rpm efficiency.

Dude, you are missing the point.

a perm vtec engine would just be a normal engine, with a more agressive cam on it. thats it. like takign a stock engine, and putting a bigger aftermarket thing in it. same thing.

I saw the "why not vtec all the time?" question coming after I had read a couple of posts. Its just not efficient for the car to run a high profile cam design all the time. Most people that think they get a vtec controller and are going to be making crazy power at a low rpm are just stupid. The low profile cam provides torque and the low end power/efficient side of the engine, while the high profile is geared for performance. Basically, theres no sense in changing the engagement of vtec on your car unless your mods call for it during tune.

big pipe...you've got to be kidding?

*Not that Hondas have torque in the first place, but you get the point.
