Newb question about a vTec.

New to the ricer scene, but have knowledge of older cars, which is why my question rises about this specific topic! You can put a turbo on a vTec motor right... from what I've heard the vTec kicks in at higher rpms, similar to that of the turbo, just wondering if its doable... I think it is, but I wana double check before I go reading and looking into stuff, it seems like a similar concept, except the vTec isn't air induced if I'm correct. A vTec controller and a boost controller in my cockpit, holyshitbatman.

I don't know why you're just capitalizing the T, because the whole thing is an acronym. Yes, you can put a turbo on an engine with VTEC. There are plenty of people on this board that have. That's about all I know when it comes to that subject, because I hold firm to my belief that turbocharging a Honduh shows latent signs of masochism.

Im a muscle car man myself, I'm looking to make this thing into a sleeper, I dono the specs of a vtec, they don't have them in old mopars and chevys, thinking I could come here for some insight bro.

Eh, just think of VTEC as running two different cams in your car. One for smooth idle and good mpg, and the other for "performance." I live around some pretty quick cars, and there's nothing "sleeper" style about a fast Honda. Then again, most of them sound like shit, so I guess it is a suprise when one of them is actually fast.

I'm joking...

I completely enjoy my turbo'd setup. I have my VTEC set to engage at 5,000 rpms which helps with the full spool for the turbo.

I will be getting tuned on Weds and we'll see how everythng turns out.

tmarsh- Thats what I'm saying! I see all these Hondas and they all have... intake... fart can... and 16chromes, thats about it, maybe a system? But if i don't do any body work to a hb, and left it half primer half bold black... maybe busted out the window and put some tape there, you know make it look like total shit with a fart can, like a lot of the Hondas around here. Then pull up next to a mustang at the red light blow him out of the water, ahh thats fun right there.

:/ Most cars around my parts are too fast to seriously consider racing, even if I was boosted. Of course, there are all the retards with slower ones, but I don't like even driving around them at all, much less going WOT next to them.
