ugh, High LS idle

Post by No Dig »

Quick question guys, I have to get the hatch sniff tested soon so I can get plates on it, and I've got 2 problems.

#1 the idle on the car is all over the place. Ill start it one day, and it sits at 1900, the next 1000, the next 1800, and so on. Everyone is saying they wont test it with an idle that high, and its a pain to drive like that.

#2 theres a CEL for the crank angle sensor, my buddy at HTP said it probably just needs a new Dizzy, but I dont want to drop $200 for something that "might" fix it, any ideas?

i had the same problem with my ls motor, and my ls/vtec. two things to try that worked for me is to check your FITV and your IACV. the FITV has a screw in it that sometimes backs out, if you take it apart, clean it, and screw the screw back in it might take care of the problem. Also check your IACV to make sure it isn't clogged. You can clean it w/ some carb cleaner. Here are a few links on how to check both....
