Loss of power in my fodo!

Post by Dabeastwthn »

UPDATED BELOW The fodo all of the sudden loses power and falls on it's face if you push the gas down more than an inch! I think the TPS is definately might be bad but does anyone think it might be something else.

TPS would cause a idleing problem and cell all at the same time, was it spitting and sputtering or was it just a straight drop off when you opened the throttle a littlebit?

Drop off when giving it throttle. No sputtering at all and It's sucking gas even worse and has less power than the CRX used to have!

Well I replaced the entire throttle body with all the sensors connected to it as well as checked the timing. It still just acts like it's getting no gas up until 5000 rpm then it take off like a bat outta hell. It doen't sputter or make any strange noises it just loses power! It's also only getting about 180 miles to a tank! I'm having a diagnostics run today so we'll see if it tells me anything. Any ideas guys and gals??

well first tps doesnt alway cause an idling problem. tps are variable resistors so they could cause a problem throughout the rpm range is depending on where the open is in the resistor iteslelf. it could be an injector staying open. you might even have an external fuel leak. loose fitting. washer or o-ring giving out. just a couple things to look at.
