Assuming you guys are familier with the HF exhaust manifold on Civic CX and DX hatchbacks, the cat is on the upper part of the manifold.. the flange on the bottom of the manifold is the normal two bolt header flange, just like what would be on any aftermarket header..
now the exhaust flange where it meets the exhaust manifold is also the two bolt style on civic CX and DX hatches..
My question is, where, what, do i need to put a header on my damn car? I mean i could buy a header for a civic DX, will it meet up with my exhaust system? and if so, I would have no cat.. this isnt a bad thing, i just think thats a little odd..
and if it wont meet up, I cant seem to find a cat that has the two bolt style flanges on BOTH sides??
Im running around in circles here, Please help :SuicidalSmiley:

Well, I had a little trouble understanding your post so I hope this helps.
I have a '90 CRX HF that has the same header design that your talking about. I put a Megan Racing SS 4-2-1 header on it and it met up to the factory exhaust just fine. However the car sounded like ass due to there being no cat. IMO, its pointless to de-cat a car unless its boosted or has a built N/A motor. I would just leave it alone. If you absolutly must put a header on your car, I would get whatever aftermarket header you want, buy a stock DX hatch cat, and a stock DX hatch B-Pipe or a DX hatch aftermarket exhaust. GL with whatever setup you decide to do and like I said, I hope this helps.

lol yeah I tend to over explain things.. the CX and DX exhaust systems are the same, and I wouldnt want my car to sound shitty.. I just hate the way that stock manifold looks and I would have a swap already if my motor had more miles (my stock D16Y7, has 69K original Miles) But I have a Y8 intake manifold and Im going to get the password powerchamber intake...
Basically I just want a header, I dont need one, I'll probably end up buying cheap parts and seeing if they fit and if not, sell them.
