:worthy: I'm a dsm fan who reacently wrecked his baby and has stumbled into my first honda, a 91 crx si. I don't know any engine but the 4g-63 and am trying to find the best way to improve the crx's performance. The biggest question I have is if the stock engine is worth upgrading or if a "swap" would be a more cost effective use of money. Swapping seems to be popular with honda people but I don't want to be popular, just fast. And without spending more money than I have to. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

the a6 block is allegidly one of the better d16 blocks out there... a light build and boost should do good for ya.

I forgot to mention that it's pushing 250,000 miles so probably a prime candidate for a total overhaul. Will healthy stock internals take boost or should I consider aftermarket velves and pistons? I've got no idea what kind of numbers it's putting down now but I figure that 200-250 whp is plenty for a car that can't weigh more than 2500 lbs with me sitting in it. I'm also looking for linear torque dilevery.

a stock d in good shape can handle 200whp daily driven and hold for a while. get anything over 200whp and its all a gamble. i say take care of the suspension and rebuild that engine then boost it with a junkyard setup.

yea some guys on turboD are pushin about 225 on stock internals...on a built d they around around 400hp, theres even one guy who is pushin 500 out of a D:w00t: you motor needs to be rebuilt before you boost it or it wont last long, or just get a newer motor and drop it in
