alright. i have the ability to get a b20 for 300+the 75$ towing fee to get it out of the shop its at.
it has a bad headgasket and thats all that is known to be wrong with it. its at the shop because the gasket and tranny are toast.
with these damages what do i need to look for to see if its still good, and also, what kinda price should i be looking at? i know B swaps are expensive as hell, but what if i already have the motor? what all needs to be replaced inorder to get her to work?
i drive a d16y8 ek.
Hmmmm nearly free B, should I!?!

I think password jdm is selling jdm b20 swaps for $549.
Not sure if you mean your payin 375 for it, or the $75 dollars shipping for it.
Just something to think about before you factor in headgaskets, machining, etc.

I know some one who boosted their b20 running about 15-17psi with stock internals. I heard its one of the strongest honda motors , so I say go for it!

actually its the weakest in stock form, it has siamese sleeves. They are also thinner than any of the other b-s.

then why do people quote b swaps as costing so damn much? is the b20 a blacksheep?
also i was talking about the cost of all the stuff sept the engine needed in the swap.
also ive seen a few halfassed comments about them not fitting well. is this so?
im trying to decide before i spend money on my y8.

The sleeves are thinner because of the 3mm larger bore, but the sleeves are still the same outer diameter.99preludesh;18624 wrote:I have know quite a few people boosting them on stock internals and not having any sort of problem...how is that?

If you have to replace the head gasket and the tranny is toast, I'd say its not worth it...
If you want help with your D talk to mike93hatch on here or www.midmosr.com (he runs it)...hes the D-series master around here as far as I'm concerned...
