Running rich???

Post by Dabeastwthn »

I took the Civic in for emissions and it failed because it was running way too rich. I also seem to be getting really crappy gas mileage (about 200 miles to a tank)! Someone told me that a fuel injector could be stuck wide open causing this, but I just wanted some suggestions, from some fellow Honda guys, on what I should do before I dig into it.

I'm fine with emissions since I'm just going to register it at my families Washigton Co. address. I just want to fix the problem beause of the mileage.

how old are the spark plugs and spark plug wires. if they are too old they might not be getting a good enough spark.

meh just do a good tune up, replace fuel filter, pcv, plugs, wires, cap, and rotor.

Take it to a place and get a fuel system test and clean, walmart does one and it's like $25 bucks but does good work on cleaning everything.

Done, done, done, done, done, done, and done. I did plugs, wires, cap and rotor about 6 months before I sold it and the PCV, fuel filter, and fuel system cleaner a month before I sold it.
