B-series vs. H-series

Post by Spork »

bang for the buck, power potential, swapability(primarily civics and integras for this discussion), weight, transmissions, everything! discuss.

I'm looking for FACT based arguments, supported by links and hopefully some example builds that include cost estimates (price the parts and make a guesstimate), hp/torque numbers, track times, etc.

so leave your OPINION outside, and bring your evidence and facts.

that can go up against the winner of this thread... :biglaugh:
(this thread is a branch off of the hyjack of AJ's 'pissed' thread)

we can also do a D vs. B thread if people want to debate that.

and F vs. H :dunno: lets get some REAL discussions going on this board

B series tranny and engine weigh about 406lbs give or take H engine and tranny weigh about 580lbs give or take a few. For every 100lbs you lose you gain a 10th to your time so if you ran a 13.2 you would run a 13.1. Thats really not much of a diffrence unless you are constistant on your run EVERY TIME.

Im going to smoke and wiz and ill fill up this thread. And my arguments are going to based solely on civics and integras, best bang for the buck.. since thats where this started anyways.

but how does that translate on a road course? would slinging that extra 170 lbs around be as unnoticeable?

i would say a good suspension setup would compensate for that extra weight so i doubt that would make to much of a difference
