damn cooling

Post by stlmadpanda »

wow im upset. while i was at work i figured i would look at why i have no heat. well i removed the thermostat and it was stuck open. no big deal put a new one in and wow. still no heat but now my damn cooling fan doesn't kick on. i jumped the terminal and the fan kicks on. therefore the switch should be bad right? I put another switch in and turns out that one is bad also. so what is my luck that i have 2 bad switches. could it be anything else. i drove home turning my engine off and coasting a ways then starting it again. its really annoying. looking forward to any help. I don't really have the money for a switch right now because im buying jake's tranny.

You could try a coolant flush. That was my problem when my EG started to overheat. Then I would try a raditor or water pump.

i went through rough 1 1/2 gallons today at work. the problem is the fan isnt kicking on. and the water pump is pumping coolant. i am stumped. when i jump the terminal at the switch the fan turns on when i plug it back into the switch and get it hot nothing happens, the guage just goes up.

jump the switch and let the fan just run all the time, if it still overheats you have bigger problems than just a t-stat or switch...
