you don't really need to do a whole lot to the block to make lots of power, I've seen a almost stock ls/vtec hit almost 300hp on almost all stock bottom end. Alot of work is in the head. Get some burly cams, huge port and polish on both intake and exhaust side, nice vavle job, get it timed good, and pretty much keep the bottom end stock. On the head get ya a nice say skunk2 intake manifold and a larger T/B and get ya a nice header and decent exhaust and your making some really nice power. Loose alot of weight and you got yourself a monster in the making.
Now if you wanna build a block build the one that needs honed, but for now play around and build ya a nice head on a stock bottom end and see how the numbers are endless.

na, lanechange had 3 different gsr p72 heads. One had the full valve train. Not sure if someone picked that one up, or not. Pretty sure he wanted $250, a piece.

i would love to keep the stock bottom end, but i cant because i only have 3 good rods and 3 good pistons. also i think that the block is going to have to be bored because of the scratches in it. as far as rods what brand is good for a budget build?

lol yeah then i would be needing some sleeves, and those are around a grand i have researched all of my options. i think im going to build an ls vtec but keep the compression low enough that i could boost it down the road.

If you can do the work yourself then you can build the bottom for about 1300 with new pistons, rods, bearings, machhine work and what not... and if you plan on boosting then this would be the way to go.. TQ FTW

im waiting on my tax return and my refinance on the house. hopefully i will have about 1800 to get my motor fixed and get the axles and stuff to swap it in. hopefully no other financial problems come up and i can get this thing running. i have had the money to do it about 4 times and something always comes up.

what parts are you looking for?
here are a few sites i bought some stuff from
- honda-tech.com : sponsor marketplace
- importparts.com
- oemacuraparts.com
- passwordjdm.com
honestly though, you can find some really good deals in the sponsor marketplace on honda-tech.com. most the time you can just email the companies and they respond pretty quick.
